Accommodations

“travel broadens the mind”…. I certainly do agree! The problem is that we dogs aren’t accepted everywhere. Therefore this site, ‘cause although it isn’t always easy to find a suitable place to stay, nothing is impossible!
You’ll find campsites, B&B’s, hotels, rural houses or apartments….whatever suits you and your human fellows best.
Like always, they expect us to be calm and behave. But,…. I expect this won’t be a problem. I never met a dog so far who was drunk, didn’t want to pay the bill or took away some towels as a souvenir!

As I live in Spain, at this moment I’ve got more possibilities in Spain than elsewhere. Please do join in, if you know appropriate accommodations in other countries as well as in Spain. Of course only places you hardly recommend as this is a non-profit site and not a way of free publicity just because.

Stay: 2015

This year my humans decided to take me, Otto, to Rome. First we took a plane and at arrival I tried even more transport possibilities such as a bus and an underground all in my box. What a trip!

They took me to a place called “Home Base Vaticano”, where the owners Gianfranco and Laura were already waiting for us. As they already knew about me, they had two bowls prepared, one for food and the other for water. The apologized for not filling it with water already, as they we’re afraid it would get warm meanwhile. What a nice gesture, so nice to feel welcome right from the start! They also gave me a nice mattress which belonged to their own dog, to make it even more homely for me. Great welcome!

My humans had asked on forehand if it would be a problem to leave me alone in the apartment but Gianfranco and Laura said it was just fine. They also offered to take care of feeding or giving me water meanwhile in case it would be necessary.

Besides the extremely warm welcome and all the nice details I loved the fact that the apartment was at base ground with a great terrace. My humans liked the 60 sqm fully equipped apartment with 70 sqm terrace a lot and were pleased that no additional costs were charged for bringing me.

The apartment located in the Aurelio district is situated close to the Eternal City of the Vatican. With the Metro A (Baldo degli Ubaldi – 50 m away) or several bus lines nearby you can easily reach the historical centre of Rome.

** The holiday house Home Base Vaticano, located in the district of Aurelio, very close to the Vatican, can be easily reached from all stations and airports in Rome. Restaurants, shops etc. within walking distance.

Stay: 21th-27th  Sept. 2013

The owners, Daniele and Claudio offer a nice, small but extremely comfortable cottage for 2 people. (ask for an extra bed if necessary). Dogs are allowed.

I really got a warm welcome as their daughter has got dogs too. The best is the garden. There is a huge space around the cottage all for you! Daniele and Claudio live (only sometimes) in the cottage next door which is fantastic, because they’re an extremely helpful and gentle couple, respecting your privacy at all times.

You can run, smell and play around in their garden as much as you like. There’s even a pool! My humans loved having breakfast in the garden and they were very happy with the well-equipped kitchen, the small but cosy living room and the bedroom overlooking the living room and nice terrace.  I had my blanket in the living room to control everything!

The village of Castellina in Chianti was nearby. Sometimes we used the car, but mainly we went for a nice walk. I highly recommend you “Il Fienile” in Tuscany!
