I don’t like it very much when my humans leave me in the car. Although it’s like a second home to me, temperature changes are a fact and mainly it’s extremely boring. Sometimes strangers even knock on the window and I’m not sure what they want from me. That’s why I recommend you all to take us with you, while you’re going for a meal. Here you’ll find some nice RESTAURANTS and bars here we dogs are welcome too.

Like always, they expect us to be calm and behave. So remember not to bark or run around! A lot of those places offer even special facilities such as a drinking bowl for us.

July 2016

Situated in one of the most astonishing side streets “Calle el Sol” of Potes, you’ll find this popular spot, well-known under the locals as “La Luna en el Sol”.

A nicely decorated frontage calls immediately your attention. The smell of fresh herbs and flowers as well as the typical cidre “Sidra” not to confuse with the French version of it are one of the first things you will notice.

Here you’re not only allowed at the outdoor terrace, but also inside! The bar itself is quiet small and narrow, so on a crowded day, you might not feel too comfortable. But on the other hand on any quiet day this is your spot! The owners of the bar, Rikke and Magda, just love animals. They’ve got a handsome dog Kazan themselves as well as a black beauty cat.

Our humans love the wide selection of fresh teas. Besides the assortment of beers, wines and non-alcoholic drinks.

See you around, Tibor!

La Mejillonera de Somera (Bar), Bilbao

La Mejillonera de Somera (Bar)
Ronda Kalea, 29
ES-48005 Bilbao ((Vizcaya, Basque Country)
Phone: +34 944 169 260

“La Mejillonera de Somera”: mussels and much more in the heart of Bilbao’s old town centre. Typical tapas such as “Gilda’s”, pintxos of Spanish omelette hamaiketako style, squid on Sundays… all very traditional in Bilbao but sometimes it’s just nice to have a change, so why not with seafood?

In one of the most characteristic streets of Bilbao you’ll find “La Mejillonera de Somera” no wonder, specialized in mussels! With a distinctive blue-tiled facade, very marine-styled and a modern, open and space interior inviting you with high tables and bar chairs to enjoy some leisure time. Here humans can try a great variety of mussels all differently and well-prepared with tasty  marinades (marine style, spicy, Somera….).  My humans tried a variety of pintxos and a portion of mussels. All looking and smelling great!

Again, it wasn’t a problem at all for me, Tibor, to enter! So I had a terrific day together with my humans in Bilbao.

Situated in one of Bilbao’s famous streets “Somera street” for tapas, beer and wine you’ll find this typical Basque bar with some tables were food is served as well.

It’s famous for its hamburgers and sandwiches, so guess what, my humans tried some and they agreed on that they were just delicious. There’s a variety of “pintxos” and they made me, Tibor, feel welcome too.

I, Tibor,  had a great time with my humans and felt really welcome here but also in most of the other bars in Somera street. I saw lots of other dogs. Some on others off the leash. As my humans weren’t sure of the official rules, I went on the leash all the time. Bilbao is definitely an inviting city for us dogs!

My humans took me as a surprise one day while strolling around Madrid. I, Murphy, had no idea about the existence of special shops selling dog food only. So exciting to explore for you, Guau! They’ve got a huge selection of natural treats without sugar or salt. Like my behaviour was excellent, my humans decided to buy me some…. and look at me, the perfect snack, while relaxing on this comfortable bed, called sofa by humans, after a long day!

I liked them all! Besides tasting good, they’re healthy too. They don’t add any additives, aromatic spices, antioxidants nor preservatives. Only ingredients suitable and healthy for us, with a flavourful taste for us dogs.

There’s a homey, down-to earth vibe and friendly service. It’s a spot where lots of locals go, as well as tourists visiting Madrid. So if you’re in the mood to meet dogs from all over the world, this might be the place to go!

Los Gallegos (Bar), Potes

Los Gallegos (Bar)
Cimavilla s/n
ES-39570 Potes, Cantabria

Phone: +34 942 737018

Just around the corner of the main street in the pedestrian area of Potes, you’ll find the bar “Los Gallegos”. In the past being a restaurant too, nowadays transformed into a cosy bar ideal for snacks and little meals.

Don’t worry, the narrow street offers a lot to smell but the good thing is, you’re allowed inside too! A nice decoration and a friendly staff with a touch of Peru, as the owner of this establishment,  Xavi, got his roots there will make you feel at home straight away.

The locals, my humans included, are especially fond of the well-prepared salads.  But also the typical snacks as well as specials like “fried Yuca” from Peru are worth a try.

Asador de Eufrasio, Lerma, Burgos

Asador de Eufrasio (Restaurant)

Vista Alegre, 9,ES-09340 Lerma – Burgos, Spain
Tel: +34 947 170257  eMail:

Set in Lerma’s old town close to the Parador and next to the Posada de Eufrasio you’ll find this  fantastic restaurant “Asador de Eufrasio”.

We got a warm welcome from the landlady and her small somewhat unconvinced lady dog. Quickly she found out that I didn’t want to dominate her, so she calmed down and went for observation across the street. Meanwhile we entered the restaurant where I was allowed to join my humans for dinner and breakfast.

The restaurant consists of two separate dining areas. In one of them we are welcome too as long as we behave instead of bothering other guests. Like always I stayed quietly under the table and after dinner we went for a walk, just down the road. I thought we went just to do our things, but then something special happened. My humans decided that it was me, who deserved the delicious bone of the tasty lam they just had before. They took it out of a plastic bag as a surprise, so you can imagine how much I loved this gesture!
